Friends of Moorfields is a thriving and active member-led charity which has been supporting patients and staff at Moorfields Eye Hospital for 60 years. A high proportion of our staff, charity trustees and volunteers have been or are currently patients of Moorfields themselves. It is thanks to their drive and enthusiasm that we are able to deliver such a range of activities and services that help patients. This is what makes Friends of Moorfields Eye Hospital vibrant, proactive and unique.
We want everyone who comes to Moorfields, for whatever reason, to have the best possible experience. Seeing patients smile is what drives us. This can mean anything from helping patients find their way around the hospital, providing support during and after an operation or running the shop at the City Road site. To do this we are completely reliant on our team of around 300 volunteers.
