Coronavirus update – Volunteers needed to help Moorfields recovery.
7th August, 2020
Back in March we had no choice but to temporarily close the Friends Office and suspend the volunteer service as Moorfields was only seeing emergency patients.
The Trust is now implementing a phased recovery, and has started to see more routine patients and some non-clinical staff are also returning to site. Friends has a key role to play in helping with this recovery by providing volunteers in the following roles:
- Helping patients and staff navigate the new one-way system
- Working in the Friends Shop
- Help keep a record of the number of people in the building
If you can spare approx. 4hrs per week to help with this please get in touch with us by calling 0207 251 1240 or emailing moorfields.friends@nhs.net
We will carry out a full NHS Covid-19 Risk Assessment before placing anyone in a volunteering role. Unfortunately anyone aged 70 or over is still considered ‘high risk’ and cannot be placed at the moment.
